4 Firefighters, Teenager Injured in Fire Truck Crash on Gulf Freeway in Houston

4 Firefighters and Teenager Hospitalized After Houston Fire Truck Crash on Gulf Freeway near Bellfort

Houston, Texas (June 23, 2020) – Four firefighters and a teenager were injured Sunday night after a BMW crashed into a fire truck in Houston, a local news source reported.

The crash happened at about 9:30 p.m. on June 21, on the Gulf Freeway near Bellfort.

According to police, Houston firefighters were blocking a hit-and-run crash in the southbound lanes of the freeway when the fire truck was struck by an SUV.

Four firefighters who were inside the truck were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A 15-year-old female passenger in the BMW was also taken to the hospital with major injuries.

No injuries were reported in the hit-and-run crash.

The crash closed the freeway.

The crash remains under investigation.
