4 Injured in Victoria Bus Accident at Sam Houston Drive and Leary Lane

Victoria, Texas (June 7, 2019) – Four people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Victoria on Thursday, according to the Victoria police.

The wreck happened in the 2300 block of Sam Houston Drive at Leary Lane.

Police said Erica Martinez, 19, was driving a Chevrolet pickup westbound on Leary Lane when she failed to stop for a red light and crashed into the back right corner of a Victoria Transit bus that was northbound on Sam Houston Drive.

A woman, two men and a minor riding on the bus were transported to DeTar Hospital Navarro with non-life-threatening injuries.

Martinez was cited for failure to stop for a red light, driving without a license and driving with an unrestrained child under eight years.

The crash is under investigation.
