5 Injured in Head-On Crash on FM 78 in San Antonio

Five Injured in San Antonio Three-Vehicle Crash on FM 78 and Foster Road

San Antonio, Texas (February 14, 2021) – Five people, including a family of four, were injured Friday night in a head-on collision in San Antonio’s Northeast Side, according to police.

The crash occurred around 10:45 p.m., February 12, on FM 78 and Foster Road.

According to the police, a silver GMC Yukon was traveling southbound on FM 78 when it crossed over into oncoming traffic and hit a 2017 Green Kia, and then crashed head-on into a Cadillac occupied by the family of four.

The GMC driver fled the scene on foot.

The front passenger of the Cadillac, a 27-year-old woman, and the front passenger of the GMC, a 27-year-old man, were taken to the Brooke Army Medical Center with serious injuries.

The Cadillac driver, a 26-year-old man, a 2-year-old girl, and a 5-year-old boy were taken to University Hospital for treatment.

The authorities are looking for the GMC driver, who, if found, will face four counts of failure to stop and render aid, one count of failure to stop and render aid – moving, and one count of failure to stop and give information.

Investigators said speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

The crash closed the northbound lanes of FM 78.

The police are investigating the crash.
