Several Injured in Longview Crash on West Birdsong Street and Loop 281

Longview, Texas (August 7, 2019) – Several people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Tuesday afternoon in Longview, according to the Longview police.

The incident was reported at around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, on West Birdsong Street and Loop 281.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash.

Police said several people were trapped in the wreckage and had to be rescued by the firefighters.

Seven people were transported to a hospital and four of them had life-threatening injuries.

The crash caused a closure of the intersection as crews worked to clear the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
