76-Year-Old Seriously Injured in Kempner Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 190

Kempner, Texas (October 10, 2022) – A 76-year-old man was seriously injured on Friday in a two-vehicle crash five miles west of Kempner, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened on October 7, on U.S. 190.

DPS said the man was driving a 1994 Ford Ranger westbound on the shoulder of the highway, slowing down from the posted speed limit.

A 29-year-old man was driving a 1984 Kenworth dump truck behind the Ranger in the outside lane.

For unknown reasons, the Ranger driver made a U-turn when unsafe and turned directly into the path of the dump truck.

The dump truck driver took evasive action to avoid a collision, but the two vehicles ended up colliding.

The Ranger driver was airlifted to Seaton Wilco with serious injuries.

The dump truck driver was uninjured in the crash.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
