Boy Killed in Austin Pedestrian Accident on East Yager Lane

Austin, Texas (September 30, 2019) – An 8-year-old boy was killed in a pedestrian accident Saturday night in northeast Austin, according to police.

The accident was reported around 10:15 p.m. September 28, on East Yager Lane just east of I-35 near Tech Ridge Boulevard.

Police said an eastbound vehicle hit the child who was walking across the street.

The child was declared dead at the scene.

According to officials, the area doesn’t have a sidewalk or good lighting.

The driver stayed at the scene after the accident.

An investigation is ongoing.
