9 Children Injured in Muleshoe School Bus Accident on TX-214 near CR-1028

Muleshoe, Texas (June 13, 2019) – Nine children were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after a traffic accident involving a school bus in Muleshoe, authorities said.

The accident happened at about 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 12 on TX-214 near CR-1028.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Muleshoe Independent School District bus was traveling northbound on TX-214 when it tried to turn west onto CR-1028 and was hit by a semi-truck.

One child on board the bus was taken to a hospital in Lubbock with minor injuries while eight other students were transported to Muleshoe Area Medical Center for evaluation.

The semi-truck driver sustained incapacitating injuries and was also taken a hospital in Lubbock. The driver of the school bus was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
