Jacob Emery Arrested For Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on West Loop South in Houston

Jacob Emery Arrested after Houston Car Accident That Killed 2 on West Loop (West Interstate Highway 610 South) near Beechnut
Houston, Texas (January 23, 2019) – Jacob Austin Emery has been arrested following a traffic crash that left two people dead early Sunday morning in Houston, authorities said.
The tragic accident took place at around 2:00 a.m. Sunday, January 20 on the West Loop near Beechnut and involved five vehicles.
Police said for an unknown reason a white Lexus struck another vehicle on the West Loop. The Lexus became disabled as a result of the collision.
The Lexus driver then got out and sat on the side of the road making phone calls. A black Ford F-150 crested the hill and spotted the broken car, veering at the last minute to avoid a crash.
In the process, the F-150 struck a Ford Taurus.
Anthony Coleman and one other person, who were in the Taurus, were killed in the wreck. The name of the other deceased has not been released pending identification and notification of family.
Emery, who was the driver of the F-150, was determined to be intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court
An investigation into the crash is underway.
