1-Year-Old Girl Killed in San Antonio Pedestrian Crash on Moursund Boulevard

San Antonio, Texas (February 26, 2019) – A 1-year-old girl was struck and killed by a suspected DUI driver while riding on a shopping cart on the South Side Monday afternoon, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
The crash happened at about 3 p.m. February 25, at the Dollar General store at 319 Moursund Boulevard.
Police said a blue Ford Ranger traveling at a high rate of speed pulled into the parking lot and took a wide turn while entering. The truck slammed into the cart, which was being pushed by a woman and had a child in it. The impact caused the child to fly out.
The truck then went ahead and struck a second vehicle and a woman who was loading groceries into it.
The child and the woman were both transported to a hospital with serious injuries and the child succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The driver of the Ford, David Fuentes, 25, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
