Nacogdoches, Texas (May 9, 2020) – A 10-year-old boy was injured Wednesday evening in a hit-and-run Jet Ski accident at Lake Nacogdoches, according to the Texas Game Wardens.

The accident occurred around 7:10 p.m. May 6, at Lake Nacogdoches near the scenic overlook off FM 225.

Officials said the child was struck by a 2019 model Jet Ski near the bank of the lake.

The child was taken to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. He was then airlifted to Cooks Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth in stable condition.

Ries was arrested on Thursday and was taken to the Nacogdoches County Jail on a Texas Parks & Wildlife Department charge of boat accident causing death or serious bodily injury, which is a third-degree felony.
