Deputy Leon Seriously Injured in Atascocita Two-Vehicle Crash near Atascocita Road and Eagle Springs Parkway; Suspect Arrested
Atascocita, Texas – A Precinct 4 constable deputy was injured Sunday night after his car was struck by a suspected drunk driver in Atascocita, according to the authorities.
The crash happened around 11:00 p.m., January 28, near the intersection of Atascocita Road and Eagle Springs Parkway.
Authorities said Deputy Leon with Constable Mark Herman’s Office was assisting the Atascocita Fire Department with traffic control near the intersection when a driver rear-ended Leon’s patrol vehicle.
Deputy Leon was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The suspect showed multiple signs of intoxication and was handcuffed. He is expected to be booked into the Harris County Jail after he is released from the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
