Woman Killed in Amarillo Hit-and-Run Crash on Interstate 40; Lisa Bartsch Lahr Arrested

Amarillo, Texas – A woman was killed Tuesday night in a hit-and-run accident in East Amarillo, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened just after 9:00 p.m., February 20, in the 3600 block of East I-40 South Frontage Road.

Police said the woman was hit by a car and was taken to the hospital where she later died. Her name has not been released.

The driver of the vehicle, 34-year-old Lisa Bartsch Lahr, fled the scene but later turned herself in to the Amarillo Police Department. She was interviewed and booked into the Potter County Detention Center for Accident-causing injury or death.

The Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department is investigating the crash.
