Driver Hospitalized after Newton County Two-Vehicle Crash on Texas 62 and CR 3139
Newton County, Texas (August 25, 2018) – A 60-year-old man was hospitalized Friday afternoon after a traffic collision at an intersection in Newton County, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The collision occurred at around 12:30 p.m. August 24, at the intersection of Texas 62 and County Road 3139.
Authorities said a 2008 Volvo dump truck was heading southbound on Texas 62 when it slowed down to make a left turn at the intersection. The dump truck was then rear-ended by a 2008 Ford pickup truck.
The pickup truck driver was taken to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
The dump truck was uninjured in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
