One Killed, One Injured in Pleasantville Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate Highway 10 near East Loop between McCarty and Mercury
Pleasantville, Texas (August 30, 2018) – A teenager was killed in a traffic accident Wednesday morning in Pleasantville, according to the Houston police.
The fatal wreck took place at about 8:15 a.m. August 29, on the eastbound lanes of Interstate Highway 10 near the East Loop, between McCarty and Mercury.
Police said the 19-year-old boy was driving a sedan when the car stalled out in the middle of the East Freeway main lane and was rear-ended by a black Jeep driven by a female.
The impact wrecked the rear of the sedan.
The teenager was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
The Jeep driver was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said impairment was an unlikely factor in the crash.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
