24-Year-Old Man Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Gessner Road near Beltway 8

Houston, Texas – A 24-year-old man was killed Thursday afternoon in a pedestrian accident in northwest Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
The deadly accident happened around 12:25 p.m., May 16, on Gessner Road just east of Beltway 8.
HPD said the man was lying on his stomach and leaning over a drainage hole in which he was performing work in the parking lot of the business. A second worker was also present nearby and there were no cones placed out by the workers to signal work was being done. A black Dodge Charger pulled into the parking lot, which has a steep entrance angle, and struck the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
The second worker was uninjured in the crash
The Dodge driver, a 53-year-old woman, was not intoxicated, and was questioned and released.
The police are investigating the crash.
