Jose Martinez, Noemi Martinez, Joanna Martinez, Samantha Martinez and 10-Year-Old Girl Killed in Eagle Pass Two-vehicle Crash on US 57

Eagle Pass, Texas – A family of five was killed Tuesday night in a head-on collision about 9 miles outside of Eagle Pass, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal crash happened around 8:00 p.m., May 28, on US 57.
DPS said a 2019 FedEx box truck was traveling eastbound on the highway while a grey 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling westbound.
The FedEx truck failed to stay in its lane, veered into oncoming traffic, and crashed head-on into the Hyundai.
Four family members in the Hyundai, Jose Martinez, 71, Noemi Jimenez Martinez, 61, Joanna Martinez, 34, and Samantha Martinez, 25, were pronounced dead at the scene. A 10-year-old girl who was also in the Hyundai was transported to Fort Duncan Medical Center but she died on the way to the hospital.
The FedEx truck driver was taken to Fort Duncan Medical Center for treatment.
The Texas DPS troopers are investigating the crash.
