Eight Injured in El Paso Two-Vehicle Crash near Doniphan and Sunset Road

El Paso, Texas – Eight people were injured on Wednesday after a car chase ended in a crash in El Paso’s Upper Valley, according to the DPS.
The crash happened on June 12, near Doniphan and Sunset Road.
DPS said troopers chased a gold Mitsubishi SUV that was allegedly smuggling migrants. The chase started at Cristo Rey and moved to Doniphan Road and ended near Doniphan and Sunset when the SUV crashed into a blue Ford F-150.
Eight occupants of the SUV were taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries. The driver was taken into custody and is facing charges of human smuggling and evading.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
