San Antonio, TX. – A man was killed in a fiery head-on collision involving a big rig on Friday morning in San Antonio, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (DPS).
San Antonio police say the accident happened on Loop 410 at Medina Base Road at around 8:30 a.m.
A car was traveling southbound on the highway when it drifted into the opposite lanes for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a big rig.
The impact of the collision caused the car to split into two and catch fire. The male driver of the car was killed in the crash.
Police say the big rig driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police. The Texas Department of Transportation closed the northbound lanes of the highway and motorists were advised to use alternate routes.
More details about the accident were not released. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
