Houston, TX – One driver is dead and another is seriously injured after two vehicles collided on North U.S. Highway 59 in Houston early Friday morning, according to the Houston Police Department.
The fatal crash happened at 1:40 a.m. on July 12 at 23200 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59)
According to HPD, a silver Hyundai Sonata and a silver Hyundai Genesis were involved in the crash.
Initial investigation revealed that the driver of the Sonata may have been driving southbound in the northbound lanes of the Highway when it collided head-on with the Genesis.
The driver of the Sonata was fatally injured and died at the scene.
The driver of the Genesis, a 61-year-old man, was critically injured in the crash.
No additional details regarding the crash were provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
