Palestine, Texas – A 59-year-old man was killed Tuesday after following a two-vehicle accident in Palestine, according to Palestine police.
The deadly motorcycle accident happened just after 12:30 on July 30 in the 2100 block of Crockett Road.
Responding officers found a Ford Explorer and a motorcycle in the roadway.
Gary McShan Identified as Rider Killed in Crash Near Palestine Mall
The motorcycle driver, later identified as Gary McShan, 59, of Elkhart, was unresponsive when the emergency crews arrived.
McShan was transported to Palestine Regional Hospital where he was declared dead.
Police say a preliminary investigation revealed the Ford, operated by 50-year-old Cathrine Reagan of Elkhart, pulled out of the Palestine Mall driveway onto Crockett Road in front of McShan’s motorcycle.
McShan, who was traveling south on Crockett Road, crashed into the driver’s side of the Ford, police said.
No additional details regarding the mishap were provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
