Liberty, TX –  A 33-year-old  Jasper man, identified as James Patrick Carrol, died Thursday night following a traffic collision involving his motorcycle in Liberty County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

According to DPS, the accident happened on Thursday night, August 1, on Highway 90 near Farm to Market Road 1009, about halfway between Beaumont and Liberty.

Troopers say James Carroll was riding a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Highway 90 near Farm to Market Road 1009. At the same time, Edmond Henderson, 69, of Devers, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck westbound on Highway 90.

Henderson attempted to turn onto FM 1009 and turned in front of Carrol’s motorcycle and the two vehicles collided.

Carroll was transported to St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where he was pronounced dead.

Henderson was not injured in the incident.
