Tye, Texas — The Authorities have released the names of two drivers who died in a wrong-way traffic collision in Tye early Sunday morning.

The victims were identified as 28-year-old Ebinson Jonael Cordova Ramirez and  32-year-old Syed Sulman Haider.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Tye officers were conducting a traffic stop on Interstate 20 just before 3 a.m. on August 4, when they observed Ramirez driving in the wrong direction on the highway.

Reportedly, the officers tried to get Ramirez’s attention but he continued traveling the wrong way and eventually collided head-on with a Dodge Ram operated by Haider.

Ramirez and Haider were killed in the multi-vehicle accident.

According to Tye police, four vehicles, including an 18-wheeler, were involved in the deadly accident. The 18-wheeler collided with the disabled Dodge Ram, authorities said.
