Allison Baker Dies in Pedestrian Accident in Austin

Austin, TX – One pedestrian was killed and another suffered serious injuries after they were struck by a vehicle at a Tarrytown intersection Thursday morning, according to Austin police.

According to a social media post by Austin-Travis County EMS, the accident occurred at about 8:41 a.m. on August 8 in the 2500 block of Hillview Road near Exposition Boulevard and Enfield Road.

Austin police said one pedestrian, identified as 65-year-old Allison Baker, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another pedestrian involved in the incident was transported to Dell Seton with serious injuries, APD said.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the West Austin couple was walking out when they were struck by a pickup truck.

Authorities say the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. They were not suspected of driving while intoxicated.

No additional details regarding the accident were provided.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
