Milam County,  TX – A 54-year-old Cameron man was killed following a two-vehicle traffic collision in Milam County Friday afternoon, according to Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened at about 2:16 p.m. on August 16 on FM 487 about o.15 miles east of FM 3061.

DPS officials said a 53-year-old Bertram man was driving a 2016 Freightliner truck tractor towing a semi-trailer on FM-487 and was slowing down to make a left turn into a private drive. Danny Ray Morgan was driving a 1997 Ford Ranger pickup truck and was following the Freightliner from behind.

Morgan failed to control the Ramger’s speed and crashed into the rear of the flatbed semi-trailer.

Morgan sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
