Boerne, TX – A motorcycle rider is dead after being hit by a pickup truck on Interstate 10 in Boerne on Wednesday afternoon, according to Boerne Police Department.
Police say officers responded to reports of a motorcycle accident on westbound I-10 near the Ranger Creek Road exit at about 2:23 p.m.
As per the police, preliminary investigation showed the rider had stopped due to road construction when a dually pick-up truck crashed into the motorcycle from behind.
The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Authorities Investigating Deadly Boerne Motorcycle Accident on I-10
Boerne police believe the driver of the pickup truck was coming over a ridge and did not see the traffic stopped before crashing into the motorcyclist.
The identity of the victim was withheld pending notification to the family.
The driver of the pickup remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said, adding that no charges are expected.
A portion of westbound Interstate 10 was shut down for a while, but it has since reopened.
