Corpus Christi, TX – A 74-year-old woman and two other people were injured following a traffic collision caused by a wrong-way driver on Interstate Highway 37 in Corpus Christi Sunday night, according to a police report.
The accident happened at about 10:10 p.m. on August 18, in the 7400 block of Interstate Highway 37.
Reportedly, police officers responded to reports of an SUV traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the freeway. The SUV collided with a passenger car causing a chain reaction involving two other vehicles.
Authorities say three people, including a 74-year-old passenger, were injured in the incident. The 74-year-old woman had serious injuries and was transported to a hospital.
The wrong-way driver, identified as 23-year-old Kendra Nunez, was arrested for assault while intoxicated
An investigation into the incident is underway.
