Arlington, TX – A female rider was killed after being hit by a suspected drunk driver in Arlington late Friday night, according to a local news source.

The tragic incident happened at about 11 p.m. Friday, August 23 near the intersection of South Watson and Webb Lynn roads.

According to Arlington police, the driver of a Dodge Charger ran a red light and struck a motorcycle near the intersection.

The female rider was taken to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the Dodge fled the scene but was later arrested. Authorities determined that the driver was driving while intoxicated. He will be charged with intoxication manslaughter.
