Corpus Christi, TX – A male bicyclist was hospitalized with serious, life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car at an intersection in Corpus Christi early Friday morning, according to police.
The violent collision happened at about 5:52 a.m. on September 13 at the intersection of McArdle Road and Mokry Street.
According to the police, a male bicyclist was hit by a black passenger car operated by Faith Perez. The male cyclist was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
An initial investigation revealed that Perez was heading westbound on McArdle Road when she struck the bicyclist, who was also heading westbound.
Further investigation showed that Perez was intoxicated at the time of the collision. She was arrested for intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury and taken to the City Detention Center for booking.
No additional details were provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
