Houston, TX – An 18-year-old man was killed after two vehicles collided on Lockwood Drive in Houston Saturday afternoon, according to the Houston Police Department.

The deadly accident happened at about 9:55 p.m. on September 21 at 1400 Lockwood Drive and Market Street.
According to HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Richards, the 18-year-old male driver of a purple Dodge pickup truck was heading southbound on Lockwood Drive. When the driver entered the intersection at Market Street, the Dodge was struck by a red Nissan Sentra traveling westbound on Market Street.

The impact caused the  Dodge to roll over several times and come to a rest on its hood.

As per the HPD, Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the driver of the Dodge dead. The identity of the deceased man, 18, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The driver of the Nissan, identified as Lakeisha Woodfork, 26, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Lakeisha was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Lakeisha was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #12.

The deadly incident remains under investigation.
