Houston, TX – Houston police are investigating a deadly bicycle versus vehicle accident on South Wayside Drive in Houston early Thursday morning.
The accident happened at about 5:30 a.m. today at 5700 South Wayside Drive.
According to HPD, a male was riding a bicycle northbound in the southbound lanes of South Wayside Drive when he was hit by a southbound gray Subaru Baja pickup truck.
HPD said the man, who didn’t have a reflector, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the bicyclist, believed to be in his 50s or 60s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The driver of the Subaru, a 25-year-old man, did not show signs of intoxication. He remained at the scene and was released after being questioned.
The accident remains under investigation.
