Austin, TX – A male bicyclist who was hit and critically injured by a suspected DWI driver on East Stassney Lane in Austin last month is dead, according to the Austin Police Department.
The accident happened at about 8:32 p.m. on September 20 in the 600 block of East Stassney Lane.
According to APD, the bicyclist was injured and was transported to a hospital where he remained hospitalized until October 10 when he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
According to the APD, the driver, identified as 26-year-old Abel Martinez, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
The name of the victim was not immediately released.
The incident remains under investigation.
