DPS said the fatal accident occurred at about 7:43 a.m. Saturday, October 12, US Highway 285 at mile marker 342.
Reeves County, TX – One person was killed and another was injured following a two-vehicle collision over the weekend in Reeves County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS said the fatal accident occurred at about 7:43 a.m. Saturday, October 12, US Highway 285 at mile marker 342.
According to DPS, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2024 International truck was traveling southbound on US 285 while a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox was heading northbound on the 285.
For some reason, the semi-truck veered off the roadway. The driver drove back to the roadway and the truck began to spin out and hit the Chevrolet Equinox.
The Equinox caught fire following the collision.
According to the DPS, one person was killed in the accident. The driver of the International truck was hospitalized with minor injuries.
This accident remains under investigation.
