Wise County, TX –  The Texas DPS has identified the two people killed in a head-on traffic collision on US Highway 287 in Wise County on October 12 as 58-year-old Phillip Jacob Pennartz and 54-year-old Tina Marie Pennartz.

The deadly accident happened at about 9:17 p.m. on October 12 on US 287 near  Hubbard Street. Reportedly, a 2016 Hyundai Accent, operated by Emily Marie Pennartz, 25, of Wichita Falls, was northbound on 287 when she lost control on a curve, crossed the median, and entered oncoming southbound traffic, where she collided with a 2020 Toyota Camry.

Emily Pennartz and 6-year-old Trace Pennartz were airlifted to hospitals in Fort Worth with critical injuries. Phillip Pennartz and Tina Pennartz, who were passengers in the Hyundai, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Camry, identified as Bryan James Rahm, 36, and his two passengers – 40-year-old Adam Lynn Brooks and 38-year-old Carlton Mancuso Sherman, were also flown to hospitals in Dallas and Denton with critical injuries.

Wise County, TX – Two people were killed and five others were hospitalized with critical injuries following a two-vehicle traffic collision on Highway 287 in Wise County, according to the Wise County EMS.

The deadly accident occurred just after 9 p.m. on October 12, on U.S. 287 near Alvord.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle with four occupants was traveling northbound when, for some reason,  it crossed the grassy median, drove into the southbound lane of U.S.Highway  287, and collided with a vehicle traveling southbound with three occupants.

According to the DPS,  two people were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims were not immediately released.

Five people were critically injured in the accident.  Five medical helicopters transported the patients to hospitals across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. One of the helicopters took a patient to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth.

The incident remains under investigation.
