According to HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Le, the accident happened at about 2:05 p.m. on Thursday, October 17 at 1300 Wayside Drive.

Houston, TX – A 70-year-old male cyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle on Wayside Drive in Houston Thursday afternoon, according to the Houston Police Department.
According to HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Le, the accident happened at about 2:05 p.m. on Thursday, October 17 at 1300 Wayside Drive.
Reportedly, a male bicyclist was traveling south on the sidewalk near the 1300 block of Wayside Drive. As the cyclist was crossing the street in a crosswalk, he was hit by a white International 7500 cement truck turning right from Wayside Drive onto Navigation Boulevard.
The man was transported by the Houston Fire Department paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was declared dead.
The cement truck driver remained at the scene after the incident. The driver was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
The identity cyclist is still under wraps pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
No additional details were provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
