The deadly accident happened at about 12:24 a.m. on Sunday, October 6 on FM 1616 north of Athens.

Henderson County, TX – A man, his two sons, and another driver were killed following a two-vehicle traffic collision in Henderson County early this month, according to Texas DPS
The deadly accident happened at about 12:24 a.m. on Sunday, October 6 on FM 1616 north of Athens.
Texas DPS said Michael Bone, 29, of Athens, was driving a 1993 Ford Ranger eastbound on FM 1616. Bone was with his two Waylon, 8, and Corey, 11, and the three were not wearing seatbelts.
At the same time, Merri Kelly, 57, of Murchison, was driving a Nissan Armada westbound on FM 1616.
According to DPS, for some reason, Bone’s Ford Ranger drove into the westbound lane and collided head-on with the Nissan Armada.
Bone, Kelly, and the two boys were killed in the collision.
The incident remains under investigation.
