Kimberly, Known as “Kim” to the Salaod ISD Community was with her 9-year-old son, Grant Ruiz, in the car when the tragic incident occured

Salado, TX – A Salado ISD second-grade teacher is dead and her son is hospitalized following a two-vehicle traffic collision on Thomas Arnold Road on Wednesday evening, according to Texas DPS.
The deadly accident happened at about 5:18 p.m. on October 23.

According to DPS, Kimberly Kosh-Ruiz, 49, was traveling westbound on Thomas Arnold Road after picking up her 9-year-old son – Grant Ruiz. Kim’s vehicle collided with a Ford Pickup truck driven a a 26-year-old Salado man.
Kim and her son were taken to Baylor Scott and White Medical Center where Kim died after an emergency surgery, according to DPS. Grant Ruis remains hospitalized.
The Ford driver was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Initial investigations revealed that one of the involved vehicles failed to yield to the right of way leading to the deadly wreck.
The accident remains under investigation.
