Houston, Texas — A 60-year-old man who sustained critical injuries after colliding with a car in Houston has died, according to Houston police.
The incident happened at about 4:40 p.m. on October 20. South Kirkwood Road.
According to the Houston Police Department, the man was riding his bicycle across the southbound lanes of South Kirkwood when he failed to yield the right of way and was hit by a white Lincoln MKZ traveling southbound.
The driver of the Lincoln, a 34-year-old man, remained at the scene, called 9-1-1. Police determined that the driver was not impaired. He was questioned and released.
Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the bicyclist to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.
The man remained hospitalized until Friday. October 25 when he was pronounced dead.
The incident remains under investigation.
