Cooke County, TX – A 30-year-old motorcyclist identified as Dean Cornelius from Gainesville was killed after colliding with a vehicle on I-35 in Cooke County on Wednesday last week.
The deadly collision happened on October 23, 2024, at 9:16 p.m. on Interstate 35 near Lone Oak Road.
According to The Texas DPS, Cornelius was driving a 2003 Yamaha Motorcycle northbound on I-35 at a high rate of speed when it struck the rear of a 2023 International towing a box trailer.
Cornelius was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the 18-wheeler, identified as Brian Kennedy, 48, from Paradise, was not injured.
The incident remains under investigation.
