Tom Green County, TX – Two people, including a 10-year-old child, were killed after three vehicles collided on US Highway 87 in Grape Creek early Thursday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

The deadly accident happened at about 5:58 a.m. on October 31 at the intersection of US Highway 87 and March Road.

According to DPS,  a Ford pickup traveling westbound on March Road approaching Highway 87 ran a stop sign, entered Highway 87, and struck the passenger side of a northbound Toyota pickup truck. An SUV that was also traveling northbound on U.S. 87 struck the driver’s side of the Ford.

Two people in the SUV, including a 10-year-old San Angelo girl, were killed in the collision.

Three other occupants of the SUV, including two boys aged 5 and 9 years, were transported to Shanon Medical Center with minor injuries.

The drivers of the two pickup trucks were not injured.

The northbound lanes of US 87 were shut down for several hours due to the collision.

The incident remains under investigation.
