Winkler County, TX – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified a man who died in a traffic collision involving a Freightliner late Tuesday night as Callejas Maldonado Alfredo of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Alfredo was driving a 2004 Ford Mustang westbound on State Highway 302 and attempted to make a U-turn into the eastbound lane and was hit by a westbound 2011 Freightliner.

Alfredo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Winkler County, TX – The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a deadly traffic collision in Winkler County on Tuesday night that claimed the life of a man.

The fatal accident happened on westbound State Highway 302 at about 10:20 p.m. on November 5.

According to DPS, a 2004 Ford Mustang was traveling westbound on State Highway 302 and the driver attempted to make a U-turn with oncoming traffic.

In the process, DPS said, the Mustanga was struck by a westbound 2011 Freightliner.

The driver of the Mustang was pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional information is available at this time.

The wreck remains under investigation.
