Madison County, TX – One person was killed in a crash that took place in Madison County on Friday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The incident took place on SH 21 near the Oxford Cemetery at about 4:21 p.m. on November 22.

The DPS said a Ford F-350 was traveling eastbound on SH 21 when it crashed into the rear of an 18-wheeler.

The operator of the Ford, Douglas Hancock Jr., 25, of Leona, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the big rig was treated and released at the scene. The accident is under investigation.
