Houston, TX – A man who was hit and critically injured by a vehicle on North Wayside Drive on last month has died, accordig to Houston Police Department.
The deadly collision happened at about 2:40 p.m. on November 21 in the 7600 block of North Wayside Drive.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y. Ramirez as the man was walking westbound on the south side of the 7900 block of Ley Road near the intersection of North Wayside Drive when he was struck by a white tractor-trailer truck. The truck was making a right turn from Ley Road onto North Wayside Drive.
The pedestrian sustained critical injuries and was transporteded by the Houston Fire Department paramedics Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.
The the 59-year-old man remained hospitalzed until Monday, December 2, when doctors pronounced him dead.
The identity deceased is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD said the 49-year-old male driverof the truck remained at the scene. Police said he did not show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
