Longview, TX – One person is dead following a multi-vehicle accident on West Loop 281 in Longview on Wednesday morning, according to Longview police.
The deadly collision, involving three vehicles, happened around 11:49 a.m in the 5100 Block of West Loop 281.
Longview police said an initilal investigation revealed that a silver SUV failed to yield right of way while exiting a private drive and was hit by another vehicle. The impact pushed the SUV into oncoming traffic and was hit by a dump truck.
The driver of the SUV sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Longview police said, adding that Longview EMS transported one other person to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The identities of those involved in the collision were not immediately released.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
