Officer Hospitalized after Smith County Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 20
Smith County, Texas (October 16, 2018) – A Lindale police officer was hospitalized Monday evening after a traffic accident on a freeway in Smith County, according to a local news release.
The crash happened at an unspecified time, October 15, on eastbound I-20 between mile markers 554 and 555.
According to the Lindale Police Department, the officer was working on a previous crash scene when his patrol unit was rear-ended by another vehicle.
The officer who was in his vehicle at the time of the accident was taken to a Tyler hospital in unknown condition. His name was not immediately disclosed.
The Lindale Police Department is investigating the crash.
