Cherokee County, Texas — One person is dead following a multi-vehicle traffic collision in Cherokee County on Wednesday morning.
The deadly accident happened at about 9:40 a.m. on January 8 on the Neches River Bridge on US-79 West at the Cherokee and Anderson County line.
Authorities said two 18-wheelers and an SUV were involved in the collision.
One person was killed in the incident. The victim’s name was not immediately released.
Highway 79 was shut down in both directions for about nine hours. The highway has since reopened.
No additional information is available at this time.
The collision is under investigation.
