San Antonio, TX – One person was killed and another was injured following a head-on collision on the Southeast Side Tuesday evening, according to San Antonio police.

The deadly two-car accident happened at 4:10 p.m. on January 7 in the 3300 block of Pecan Valley Drive.

According to the police, a 31-year-old man was driving a black SUV northbound on Pecan Valley at a high rate of speed when he crossed over a median and struck a silver SUV driven by a 47-year-old head-on.

The 47-year-old man died in the accident. The 31-year-old driver was hospitalized in an unknown condition but the police said he was unconscious.

The two drivers, whose names have not been released, were the sole occupants of their vehicles.

Police said neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the incident.

The accident remains under investigation.
