Officer Mario Villarreal suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital before being flown to a San Antonio hospital.

Laredo, TX. – A United ISD police officer was airlifted to a trauma center after being injured in a motorcycle accident on Monday night in Laredo.
According to the Laredo Police Department, the collision occurred at the intersection of Jacaman Road and Arena Boulevard at around 8:45 p.m.
Officer Mario Villarreal was riding a motorcycle in the area when he collided with a Toyota Camry driven by Alessandra Davila, 21.
The on-duty officer suffered serious injuries to his lower extremities and was taken to a local hospital before being flown to a San Antonio hospital.
Davila remained at the scene and was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
