Mesquite, TX – The authorities have identified the bicyclist who was killed by a hit-and-run driver along U.S. Highway 80 in Mesquite on Saturday morning.
Mesquite police said the victim, identified as Wendell Voyles, 60, of Sunnyvale, was hit by a 1998 Chevrolet C10 pickup truck in the 100 block of Highway 80’s north service road at 5:56 a.m. on March 29.
Voyles, who was riding a bicycle at the time of the collision, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup, identified as Luis Quezada, 49, of Sunnyvale, initially fled the accident scene but later returned. The suspect was arrested and charged with collision involving fatality.

Mesquite, TX – A bicyclist died after being hit by a car on Saturday morning in Mesquite.
According to the police, the accident happened on the north service road of U.S. Highway 80.
Responding officers found the man in the roadway lying next to a bicycle.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
