Pedestrian killed in collision on North Freeway in Houston

Houston, TX. – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car on Sunday night in Houston.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 10 p.m. at 16500 North Freeway.
The unidentified man was crossing the freeway and was hit by a car.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
At around 1 a.m., a patrol car working the scene of the earlier accident was hit by a suspected drunk driver, identified as Leslie King, 51.
Two deputies were in the car and taken to a hospital as a precaution.
King was hospitalized with minor injuries. He was later charged with driving while intoxicated.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
