Rene Martin Killed in Grimes County Motorcycle Accident on State Highway 105

Grimes County, TX. – 35-year-old Rene Martin of Montgomery has been identified as the motorcyclist who died in a collision on Sunday afternoon in Grimes County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 5:23 p.m. on State Highway 105 and Grimes County Road 417.

A 2022 Subaru Legacy was traveling west on Highway 105 when it failed to stay in its lane and went into the eastbound lane where it collided with a 2022 Lincoln SUV traveling eastbound.

The Lincoln came to rest in the eastbound lane where it was hit by a 2016 BMW motorcycle traveling east. The motorcycle caught fire after the collision.

A 2018 Mercedes GLC the sideswiped then Lincoln.

Martin was riding the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The driver of the Subaru suffered serious injuries and was transported to Memorial Herman-Texas Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the Lincoln was transported to Memorial Herman-Texas Medical Center with suspected minor injuries while a passenger of the Lincoln was taken to CHI St Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan with minor injuries.

The driver and passenger of the Mercedes suffered minor injuries and were both transported to CHI St Joseph Regional in Bryan.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
